We had our first salad from our garden last night. I planted tons of lettuce back in March, with hopes of using the thinnings for early summer salads. So far this year, we’ve eaten herbs, spinach, and now this lettuce out of the garden. Are you picking anything yet?

Currently picking onions, tomatoes, green beans, lambs-quarter, kale, collard greens, swiss chard, basil, and sage. Lots of salads in my future too…
You sure are lucky to have such a long growing season in Texas, but I don’t think I’d trade for that hot hot summer!
Something has eaten my lettuce. I am bereft. So I have no salad from my own garden.
But my strawberries are very nearly ripe. I think they’ll soothe my wounded heart.
I’m contemplating growing strawberries next year. My family’s farm grows so many, I’ve been happy to let them do the work!
We are eating broccoli, kale, spinach, and lettuce so far. Peas are blooming!!
Nice! My peas aren’t yet in bloom, but they’re going strong!
Up by the canadian border, I’m eating baby spinach, radishes, and snow peas.
