What’s for Supper?

Sloppy Joes


  • 1.25 lbs (one package) of ground beef, turkey or chicken… antibiotic and hormone free
  • 1 diced red onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 4 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup (our own)
  • 1/2 cup Annie’s Naturals Smokey Maple BBQ sauce
  • 1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • dash pepper
  • shredded Cabot extra-sharp cheddar cheese, to serve
  • hard rolls, to serve

Saute onions in 1 Tbsp olive oil, if desired.  Add garlic, then add meat.  Brown meat, then pour off fat if needed.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Serve on hard rolls (or burritos, or taco shells) with cheese.  Shred your own cheese! The pre-shredded kind has some kind of coating so it doesn’t stick together, but it gives it a wierd texture.
