7 Facts about myself:

  1. I haven’t always wanted to be a teacher.  While growing up, I wanted to be a mermaid, a hairdresser, a veterinarian, and a nurse before settling on teacher.  I still want to be a mermaid.
  2. I really like desserts of all kinds, especially fruit desserts or chocolate.  I eat it really slowly and Ed tries to steal off my plate, which makes me really mad because I don’t think that’s funny.
  3. Some of my students really give me hope for future generations.
  4. I really miss gardening this winter and can’t wait to start seeds.
  5. My favorite TV shows include Desperate Housewives, Jon and Kate Plus 8, Barefoot Contessa, Law & Order: SVU, Big Bang Theory, The Office and Deadliest Catch.  The Northwestern is my favorite boat, and Sig is my favorite captian.  I will always root for him.  Wow, I guess I watch a lot of TV.
  6. My wonderful hubby Ed has built me a TV cabinet, a coffee table, a bed, 3 bookshelves, a table for my Christmas village, and a house (with help, of course), in that order.  I still have a wish list of things I want him to build for me that includes mudroom cabinets, office cabinets, a dining room table, a barn and…
  7. … a salt water pool.  See #1 above.

So, I tag:

  1. I wanted to be an astronaut. When you get your pool you can mermaid around all you want!

  2. Oh thank you!

And…I LOVE Jon & Kate Plus 8!!! It’s one of my favorites for some reason!

Please get your husband to build you that pool and then invite me over for top secret mermaid meetings.

  4. Aw, there is a theme here. Mermaid was my nickname from my husband when we married (I had long mermaidewque hair then). My nickname for him was Alligator . (See you later ‘gator…yes, I know…..smarmy dating stuff).

When we eloped to Key West we stayed in an inn called…you guessed it…..The Mermaid and the Alligator the night before our wedding. We took it as a sign from God as their logo was of the two kissing.

Always wanted to be a mermaid…….

  5. Ruth

You were always a mermaid in my mind! Remember those years of synchronized swimming that you like even better than dancing! The pool parties that you had with your friends at our house growing up were some of the best times I remember. I’ll never forgot the beach theme birthday party you hosted for your friends when you were about 9 or 10 years old. You girls dressed in bathingsuits, slept in lounge chairs, and were pestered to no end by your little brothers. No wonder you love sea glass so much!

OK, when you get a salt water pool, will the “mermaid’s mother” be invited for a swim?

Love Ed’s “honey do” list, too! He’s such a honey!

  6. And what a cute little mermaid you would make too! The salt water pool would be amazing.

  7. PF- I thought you wanted to be a pirate and a farmer!

Kayla- Yeah, those kids are so cute. And I think I’m just amazed that they can keep it together.

Spectrum- When I get a salt water pool, you are totally invited over for top secret mermaid meetings.

Going Crunchy- What a cool story! Okay, when I get the pool Laura and I will let you come to our top secret mermaid meetings, too.

Mom- You can come to the meetings, too, but you have to make us ice cream cones.

Green Bean- Yeah… We wouldn’t need to chlorinate because of the salt, just a UV system to kill the bacteria. See, it’s eco-friendly.

  8. At long last I have finally gotten around to posting again! I just put up my 7 facts, so if you’d like head on over. On another note, I like Jon and Kate too, although I’m not sure how Jon stays in his marriage. What will happen to them after the TLC show is over?

  9. I finally got mine up! I really do enjoy doing these things… thanks for tagging me!
