June in Bloom

Sunday Stroll

I’m just loving the peonies this year.  Last year, we only had two flowers and both broke off in rain storms.  This year, we’ve got many, many more blooms.

This one broke off in the this morning’s downpour, but I plopped it into a mason jar on the kitchen counter.

I love this hot pink plant!

Thanks to the stake, these ones weren’t really affected by the rain.

Preview for next week: hydrangeas are starting to open.  The lace cap’s blooms are abundant this year!

The mopheads in the front garden are also looking great!

I’m anxiously awaiting the sea of blue when these are all open! Blue hydrangeas are my favorite flower.

  1. Your peonies are beautiful! Mine are opening now too, but it is so cloudy today that the blooms aren’t fully opening. It is as if they are waiting for the sun… I am too!

    I’m glad you strolled!

Your peonies are exquisite and your hydrangaes are looking to be very prolific! Thanks for sharing!

  3. How pretty. Don’t you just want to go out and bury your head in the flowers and breath deeply. Filling up the house with flowers is also such a pleasure for eyes and nose and it looks like you have enough flowers to be able to make wonderful bouquets. Thanks for the stroll in your yard.

  4. Gorgeous peonies, gorgeous photos. I just love your garden Abbie, 🙂

  5. Beautiful peonies … I just wish the blooms lasted longer.
