i really need to do this. i am obsessed with bagels and would love to make my own so i know what ingredients are actually going into them!

Makes me hungry! I haven’t made bagels in awhile. Love them! I’ve made them and frozen before the baking stage and they were great.
Wow – those look fantastic! I always assumed it was really hard to make bagels and it was best left to professionals with industrial equipment… but I might just have to give this a shot. I hope yours taste as good as they look!

Can you post a how too! Is it possible to skip the frying part and go straight to the oven?
Just follow the link at the bottom to the recipe. It’s boiling in water, not frying, and that’s traditional for NY Bagels. That’s what makes them puff up and get the crusty texture on the outside. It’s easy, try it!
