Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s what I’m thankful for this year:

  • A wonderful husband of 5 years and a baby on the way
  • A great big extended family and in-laws who love each other very much
  • My dream house
  • All of our wonderful animals
  • Nourishing food
  • My 12-year-old car that just keeps on going
  • Our good jobs and benefits
  • Our good health
  • That tomorrow I can start decorating for Christmas! Yay Christmas village!

What are you thankful for this year?

  1. Ab,

    How beautiful!

I wrote a similar post on Thanksgiving day at: http://everydaywomanusa.wordpress.com/2009/11/26/giving-thanks/

    In short, I’m thankful for:

•Four generations of family members to celebrate the holidays with
•An 87-year-old mother who inspires me on a daily basis
•A grandbaby on the way (OK, you’ve heard this before!)
•My wonderful husband who supports me even when he thinks I’m crazy (as in currently pursuing my Doctorate)
•Three grown kids who make me intensely proud!
•A career (working with kids and adults) that I love
•Purposeful work at school and home
•Our family farm full of animals and adventures
•Friends who “hold me up” and occasionally, let me “hold them up”
•A positive attitude despite everything around us in the news–and world–that could make us pessimistic
•“Enough” of all of the above!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

    Ruth

  2. I already left my “thankful for” list over at your mom’s, but pretty much I’m glad to have my family and our health.

You’ve reminded me that I should get out my own Christmas village. I didn’t bother last year. I just have to find a place to put it.

Which Christmas movies do you like? I’m a fan of Rudolph and Frosty myself.

  3. I love your thankful list. You do indeed have a lot to be thankful for. There is such an amazing beauty to waiting for a child. The waiting time is precious too… so filled with hope and expectation. Enjoy this beautiful season!
